I visited NCTC on Friday, August 29th.

There were no eagles or eaglets in sight, but I was able to check out the area beneath the nest. This is the remains of a catfish.

This is what came up on the cam this morning!

River eagle
While on a Potomac River float with the Potomac River Paddlers last weekend, Bob Cianflone photographed a bald eagle on the West Virginia side of the river, about a quarter mile north of Shepherdstown, W.Va. Cianflone said the eagle later snatched a fish from the river. Paddlers’ floats are open to anyone interested in a slow float to enjoy nature. Two Back to Back Fledges at NCTC!!

The eldest eaglet fledged on June 4, 2008 with hardly a blink of the eye.

The second eaglet fledged the next day, June 5, 2008.

Both eaglets were one day shy of 12 weeks old when they fledged.

The littlest eaglet remains in the nest. The fledglings have been seen in the nest tree, but not back in the nest, yet.
